I'm in serious need of some sun and sand, you best believe I will be poolside, drink in hand, all week long!

The last few weeks I've been shopping for our vacation and I can't wait to share all of my looks with you all! There have been a ton of end of the season sales so I made out pretty good for out getaway! Make sure you follow along on Instagram starting Sunday to see me on my travels.

So this look I styled here is seriously so effortless and just how I like to be in the summer, besides denim and a white tee of course! If I could run around everyday barefoot in a floral maxi dress, I would. This is exactly what summer is about, being wild and free!  I saw this dress a few months back and new I had to have it the best part is the price, you guys, it's under $35!

Nordstrom Anniversay Sale

The biggest sale of the season is finally here! This time every year Nordstrom has its very hyped up anniversary sale. Today is early access for card holders, which lasts a week and than July 21st it opens up to everyone, it will then run through August 6th. The anniversary sale is all of the fall styles just hitting the store but they are up to 40% off.

Today everything hit the site and I've spent the morning browsing the pages. I didn't think I would LOVE as much as I did. To be honest, I am so inspired by the fall trends and I can see my style going in a bit of a different direction. (can't you tell by all of my favorites)

This fall you can see a lot of neutrals, stone colors, beige and of course black which I am excited to incorporate more of!  Textures will be big this season as well, Chunky sweaters, leathers and suede - I say yes to all of them! We've been seeing a lot of fun twists on tops in the last year and that isn't going anywhere, cold shoulders and tie and lace up details are here to stay.

I've rounded up some of my favorite finds for you to shop and if you are a Nordstrom card holder you can start buying today. If not, come back July 21st to shop these finds!

Smocked Summer Dress

Hello loves! Finally I'm sharing with you all the dress has that has been on constant repeat since I've bought it. The cutest floral smocked dress I ever did see. It's funny because I literally spent last summer in dresses and this year with the exception of a few new addition to my wardrobe I haven't really been wearing dresses.

When I saw this dress hanging on the hanger I knew I had to try it on. Fun fact about me.. (well not really sure if it's a FUN fact..) I enjoy shopping at the mall as opposed to online shopping. I am also the type of shopper that tries everything on before I buy it. I tried this dress on and instantly fell in love. It's so flattering, I love the ruching and sleeve details, which bring this dress from everyday smock dress to a dress that can be worn to a babyshower, bridal shower or brunch.

I kept it simple with my favorite wedges and a pop of white pom pom earrings oh and I can't forget my favorite pink bucket bag. I linked all of the look for you to shop below. Wishing you all a great rest of the week!

Palm print dress

Hello all! I am in a complete Mondaze over here. I spent the weekend with two local blogger friends of mine, working on a fun shoot. Besides shooting, we enjoyed a day poolside, drinking rosé, floating on cute rafts and enjoying our time together. I love that blogging has made me some real great friends, with similar interests! I also can't wait for you all to see the project we were working on and the cute styles we put together.

This look I styled here, is a little out of my comfort zone, but I am so loving it! Sometimes it feels good to do something out of the norm. I tend to gravitate towards simple, plain looks for the most part. Rarely do I add color or prints but when I do I always like it and I also notice that you guys like it as well and makes me want to do it more!

This dress is really fun! It's perfect for the summer, poolside or to bring along on a vacation, which it is totally coming along with me to florida in two weeks. I love the tie shoulder details and the vibrant tropical print.  Since I was feeling bold in this print I decided to add another fun element and really make this look pop with a oversized earrings. Everything is linked for you to shop below!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!

Anatomy of a Cheese Board

A few weekends I bbq'd with some friends and of course, I suggested I would make the board. Here's a fun fact, I absolutely love wine and cheese. I'm always making cheese boards for appetizers for parties or even before dinner on a casual weekend night in. In my eye's cheese boards are perfect to pick on while sipping wine and chatting and they are so tasty!

My love really started for cheese when I was about 19, I was living in California pursuing acting and I got a job at a cute little cafe where they served the cutest cheese boards. I ended up really enjoying it and getting into the anatomy of a cheese plate. I really enjoy sprucing up my boards and offering an assortment of different flavors.

I wanted to share with you all some tips and suggestions to make your own cheese plate at home. As mentioned this is the perfect picking to bring with you to a party and you'll be sure to wow your friends!

Cheese Selection.

You want to give your board a variety of cheeses. I like to offer at least a minimum of three types of cheeses. Keep your board interesting, I like to choose cheeses based on milk type (sheep, cow, goat) and then I like to chose the texture (hard, semi hard, soft).

My favorite cheeses :

Goat brie triple cream, Saint-André, humboldt fog, Lamb Chopper : Cypress Grove, Midnight Moon : Cypress Grove, Creamy Toscano (soaked in syrah) : Trader Joe's,  Cambozola : Trader Joe's

Something Sweet.

After you've picked your cheeses you'll want to add some sweet stuff to your board. Sweet pair well with just about any cheese. I love to drizzle some honey on sharper cheeses like blue cheese. Fruit is always a good idea on a board, apples slices, peach slices or fresh cherries. You can also add a spread like fig.

Something salty.

Next you'll like to add something salty, I typically will do two elements. I love mini pickles, cornichon's and also salted marcona almonds are my favorite, but really any kind of nut would pair nicely on a board and even an olive spread.

Crackers/bread.

The last element is the bread and crackers and you can really have fun with this part (yes bread can be fun!) I like to get a french baguette and cut it up into slices, brush it with olive oil and toast it up. Trader Joe's has a nice assortment, gorgonzola crackers, fig and olive crisps or just plain toasts.

Remember to have fun and explore thats what I've done. There have been some cheeses I wasn't a fan of or some elements didn't compliment each other. Through trial and error you will find what works best for your taste buds and what works well. The world of cheese is endless, I'd love to hear your favorite cheeses in the comments below!
